Contraption opens for preview tomorrow, and beyond this weekend it's more or less out of my hands. (I'll still be there for much of the run, as I'll have some de facto stage management duties...it's not a long story but it's actually very benign and boring.

Tonight's dress rehearsal had its share of cock-ups, but I believe we're in very good shape. The cast has been universally praised by all of the outside eyes who have so far seen it, and I couldn't agree more. (I received the comment that the show had been perfectly cast; I replied that it was easy to do so when the parts were written with that cast already on board.)

I am pleased with it. I have been very fortunate to work with the people I work with and in an environment willing to let me pursue the vision I had even as that vision changed and twisted from the original proposal.

The hard part now, of course, is getting people to come see it. As a matter of course...
